Café del Mar interviews International DJ CHICANE
Chicane, one of the world’s most prolific dance producers, composers and artists; famed for hits such as Saltwater, Offshore and Don’t Give Up, took control of the decks and assisted Café Del Mar in throwing the most alluring Melbourne Cup After party that Sydney has ever seen.
Sydney’s best dressed turned up to show the city how it’s done, dancing high up above Darling Harbour, lost in the magic of Chicane’s Balearic beats, as the sun went down.
When choosing an artist for the event, Chicane was the natural choice.
With his melodies and sound firmly rooted in Ibiza, home of the original Café Del Mar, his melodies deliver an eclectic sound of gentle rolling trance synths, dramatic breaks and punchy disco vibes.
English born Chicane played a diverse DJ set consisting of tracks past and present, representative of his latest album “Twenty”, which was released earlier this year.
The retrospective album celebrates his career over the past two decades. Showcasing classics and new remixes seamlessly side by side, demonstrating once again his talent and reputation for creating music that is current, relevant and timeless.
